ARQ Winter Assembly | AI & PTSD – Opportunities and Challenges

Thursday 29 january 2026 | 16:30 - 18:30

A free knowledge-sharing event that strengthens connection, collaboration, and development within mental health care. The theme of this assembly is: AI & PTSD – Opportunities and Challenges.

What happens when artificial intelligence meets the complexity of trauma care? That is the central question during this event.

Program & Speakers

Can AI predict post-traumatic stress disorder before symptoms even appear? Can it support therapy—or even be part of it? And what ethical boundaries must we carefully guard?

During the program, we’ll build from broad to specific:

  • A look at the general potential of AI in healthcare
  • The use of digital biomarkers to predict PTSD
  • A provocative study on using deepfake technology in the treatment of sexual trauma
  • And finally, a contribution from someone with lived experience

The full program will be announced soon. But we are proud to already share that Katharina Schultebraucks, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Population Health at NYU Langone Health, will kick off the content portion of the event. In addition, Jackie June ter Heide, PhD, clinical psychologist and senior researcher at ARQ, will share her expertise.
